Kadampa Meditation Centre Victoria

Classes, Workshops, and Retreats

Kadampa Meditation Centre (KMC) Victoria is a modern Buddhist Meditation Centre located in the heart of Victoria, BC at 970 Blanshard St. Each week we offer classes in-person and online that fit your needs and level of experience. In these classes we explore practical and effective methods for cultivating deep inner peace and happiness in our daily lives.

MODERN BUDDHISM

The practice of Modern Buddhism is timeless and open to everyone. Its profound insight into the nature of the mind remains as revolutionary in our contemporary world as it was 2500 years ago, thanks to the extraordinary teachings of our founder, Buddhist meditation master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

EVERYONE WELCOME!

We welcome and respect everyone at KMC Victoria, whatever your life journey or how you identify.  Please drop in to one of our classes!  We offer classes at our Centre (970 Blanshard Street) and at 8 other locations in Esquimalt, Hillside/Cedar Hill, University of Victoria, Langford, Sidney, Brentwood Bay, Black Creek (Courtenay), and Campbell River.

Healing the Past through Emptiness

It’s easy to feel burdened or held back by the past and allow our previous painful experiences to determine who we are and what’s possible now. But does the past really continue to exist and have power over us today? What is the real nature of the memories and perceptions that affect us so deeply in the present?

Buddhist Thoughts on the Unceasing Mind

Contemplating that the mind continues after the body ceases at death is challenging to those of us accustomed to the belief that the mind depends entirely upon the body for its existence.  But if we are willing to investigate this subject with an open mind, we will see that the existence of past and future lives is not merely a religious dogma, but a logical implication arising from the nature of the mind itself.
