Recognizing the True Nature of Suffering

Part of the  Learning to Let Go Series: Teachings on Renunciation

Is it possible for each of us to end fear and suffering completely?  Buddha taught that by cultivating the mind of renunciation we enter the path to liberation.  Renunciation is the wish to escape from samsara, the cycle of life contaminated by ignorance and delusion.  It is a joyful mind that empowers us to strive day and night to destroy its root; self grasping ignorance, and thereby establish the foundation to experience the unchanging inner peace of nirvana.

In this class, we will focus on Recognizing the True Nature of Suffering.

We first need to understand that samsaric rebirth is in the nature of suffering and develop renunciation for it.  Then we should abandon the delusions and negative actions that are the source, or origin, of samsaric rebirth and all its sufferings; and make our life truly meaningful by attaining liberation.
