Kadampa Meditation Centre Victoria

Classes, Workshops, and Retreats

Kadampa Meditation Centre (KMC) Victoria is a modern Buddhist Meditation Centre located in the heart of Victoria, BC.  Each week we offer classes in-person and online that fit your needs and level of experience. In these classes we explore practical and effective methods for cultivating deep inner peace and happiness in our daily lives.

MODERN BUDDHISM

The practice of Modern Buddhism is timeless and open to everyone. Its profound insight into the nature of the mind remains as revolutionary in our contemporary world as it was 2500 years ago, thanks to the extraordinary teachings of our founder, Buddhist meditation master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

EVERYONE WELCOME!

We welcome and respect everyone at KMC Victoria, whatever your life journey or how you identify.  Please drop in to one of our classes!  As well as our location on Blanshard Street, we offer classes in Esquimalt, Hillside/Cedar Hill, University of Victoria, Sidney, Brentwood Bay, and Black Creek (Courtenay).

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to building renovations we have temporarily moved around the corner.  Enter the building through 777 Broughton Street (next to the barber shop) and take the elevator to the 4th floor.  Enjoy our new, quiet and peaceful space!

The Dreamlike Illusory Nature of All Things

Due to a deep-seated confusion we grasp at everything we perceive as existing independently of our mind. These mistaken perceptions give rise to uncontrolled emotional reactions like anger, attachment and fear.  Through meditating on emptiness, we discover that the way things exist is not fixed, they lack independent existence, and we are free to decide how best to relate to them.
