Through purifying our negativity our mind will gradually become happier and happier, our good qualities will increase, and all our mental and physical problems will gradually disappear. Learn simple purification using Buddha Vajrasattva prayers combined with meditation on the four opponent powers.

1.30-2.15pm ~ Session 3 – Meditation and Recitation of Solitary Vajrasattva (Guided by Julia Anderson)
During a retreat we reduce our normal worldly activities and concentrate for a period of time on developing spiritual qualities and peaceful minds – finding happiness from within. The morning sessions each consists of a teachings and time to engage in prayers and recitation of Vajrasattva’s mantra.
The afternoon session is the complete practise of the Meditation and Recitation of Solitary Vajrasattva.
TEACHERS
Gen Kelsang Zopa
Gen Kelsang Zopa is a Canadian Buddhist monk and Resident Teacher at Bodhichitta Buddhist Centre. He has been presenting the profound teachings of the Buddhist path for over 25 years with depth, clarity and warmth.
Julia Anderson
Julia has been been practising Kadampa Buddhism for over 15 years. She is our current Administratve Director and a member of the Teacher Training Program. Her consulting, leadership and counseling experience enhances the clarity and effectiveness of her teaching.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE RETREAT?
TEACHING During the first two sessions the teacher will include a brief teaching explaining the purification practice. The third session will focus on recitation of the Vajrasattva prayers.
GUIDED MEDITATION & PRAYER Each session includes meditation and recitation of the Vajrasattva Purification prayers.

Q. Do I need to be a Buddhist to attend?
No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind
Q. Do I need to have any experience?
No. Everyone is welcome, including beginners. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.
Q. How should I dress?
No special clothing is required, come as you are.
Q. Is there any physical exercise involved?
No. The classes focus on meditation and teachings alone. You can choose to sit on a chair or meditation cushion.
Q. What is your policy regarding fragrance?
We strive to be a scent free environment. Please help us keep the air we share healthy and fragrance free. The chemicals used in scented products can make some people sick, especially those with fragrance sensitivities, asthma and allergies.
Q. What is your policy regarding late arrival?
Our doors open 15 minutes before class start. Kindly arrive at least 5-10 minutes before class start to facilitate check in and get seated. Out of kindness for our volunteers, students and Teachers, we cannot accommodate latecomers. Thank you for your understanding.
