Buddhist meditation is widely known for its ability to help people remove their inner causes of suffering.  It is also about becoming happier and happier — discovering the deep peace, joy, and bliss we all have inside of us.

Join Sachi Tamura from the Bodhichitta Kadampa Buddhist Centre for this series of classes that introduce the practice of meditation and its benefits in our daily life.

NOV 3 – DEC 15

Transforming adverse conditions is vital in these difficult and challenging times.  When things don’t work out the way we want them to our usual reaction is to become upset or disappointed.   By reflecting deeply on Buddhist teachings we can learn to accept whatever happens with a calm and peaceful mind, and stay positive in any situation. Instead of allowing adversities to make us unhappy and discouraged we can use them to enhance our spiritual growth and thereby maintain a pure and peaceful mind.

  • Recognizing Our Anger Response
  • Learning to Practice Patience
  • Controlling Our Desire
  • Changing Our Perception
  • Cultivating Pure Aspiration
  • Compassion Purifies Our Mind
  • Cultivating Contentment

Guided Meditation

Each class begins with guided breathing meditation, to help settle the mind and let go of distractions.

The teacher will then give a practical teaching  based on the book, How To Transform Your Life, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The teaching will focus on how we can integrate Buddha’s timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.

Concluding Meditation

The class will finish with a concluding meditation to help us take the teaching to heart and there is also the opportunity to ask questions.
