A Bodhisattva is a person who, motivated by great compassion, has developed a spontaneous wish to attain enlightenment for the sake of all living beings. We can learn to follow the Bodhisattva’s way of life by practicing the six perfections of giving, moral discipline, patience, effort, concentration, and wisdom. In this course we will learn how to emulate the thoughts and deeds of a Bodhisattva and transform our ordinary daily life into the Bodhisattva’s way of life.
In this class, we will focus on the Perfection of Concentration
The main function of concentration is to make our mind peaceful. When our mind is free from the turbulence of distracting conceptions it becomes calm and smooth. Without concentration our mind has no freedom but is forced to go wherever it is led by attachment, hatred, or other delusions.
