Powa for the Recently Deceased
Powa is a lovely ritual practice on behalf of those who have recently deceased. Through doing Powa Ceremony with faith, compassion, and concentration we can transfer the consciousness of those recently deceased to a higher rebirth or to the Pure Land of a Buddha.

Helpful things to know:
Dedications: Dedications for this occurrence of the Powa Ceremony will include all the victims of Covid-19, but we also encourage you to make specific dedications using our online “Request a Dedication” form.
Please complete your requests no later than Saturday evening to be sure they will be available to the presider on a timely basis. Thank You.
Request a Dedication
Timing: The actual practice, including mantra recitation and meditation on transference of consciousness is about 45 minutes long. We will start the online “meeting” at 1:00pm, The presider will read the dedications. Then she will start the actual practice.
Prayer Booklet: A sadhana (prayer booklet) is recommended, but not necessary. If you want one you can purchase an e-version from Tharpa Canada at this link
