The Advantages of Being Humble
Part of the Humble Virtue or Arrogant Pride? series
Nothing good ever comes from dwelling on our own qualities and others’ faults. All that happens is that we develop a highly distorted, self-important view of ourself, and an arrogant, disrespectful attitude towards others. In this series we will explore the advantages of humility and how it enables us to learn from everyone.
In this class, Gen Zopa will explain the advantages of being humble, something we may not have considered before.
In general, we would all prefer to enjoy high status and a good reputation, and we have little or no interest in being humble. Accomplished practitioners of training the mind are the complete opposite.
