The Continuum of Conciousness
Part of the Living Lightly with Purpose series
How did we get here? Where are we going? Is consciousness infinite or does it cease? Is karma fate or do we have choice? What is the essential meaning of our human life?
In this 6-part series Gen Zopa will explain the life-enhancing meditations on our precious human life, death and impermanence, and karma. Gaining experience of these meditations will give us insight into the big questions of life and death, and enable us to deal skillfully with grief and suffering. In particular it will allow us to generate a life-enhancing energy that will empower us to truly make the most of our lives, to live and die joyfully and meaningfully.
Everyone is welcome to join us and expand their mind!
In this class, the first of this series, Gen Zopa will explain the continuum of conciousness. Our body and our mind are not the same entity. If the mind is not the brain, nor any other part of the body, what is it? Our mind is a formless continuum that functions to perceive and understand objects.
NEW: A 10-15 minute question and answer period has been added at the end of each class.
