The Disadvantages of Arrogant Pride
Part of the Humble Virtue or Arrogant Pride? series
Due to strong attachment to our own views, we immediately experience the inner problem of unpleasant feelings when someone opposes them. This causes us to become angry, which leads to arguments and conflicts with others. In this series we will explore the advantages of humility and how it enables us to learn from everyone.
In this class, Gen Zopa will explain the disadvantages of arrogant pride.
Nothing good ever comes from dwelling on our own qualities and others’ faults. All that happens is that we develop a highly distorted, self-important view of ourself, and an arrogant, disrespectful attitude towards others.
