KADAMPA MEDITATION CENTRE VICTORIA
FOUNDATION PROGRAM (FP)

DAY: Thursdays
TIME: 6.00-8:15pm
In-person classes. Online attendance available for distant students and by special request.

STUDY BOOK: Universal Compassion
The Foundation Program (FP) is designed for those who wish to deepen their understanding and experience of Kadampa Buddhism through a systematic study of six texts by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
When you join you will experience the great benefits of being part of this systematic study program. Through this you can improve your good heart, your wisdom, and your cherishing of others by going deeper into your study and meditation practice.
This is not a drop-in program and enrollment is required. You are also required to have attended General Program classes regularly for a minimum of 6-months before joining the Foundation Program. TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM (TTP)

DAY: Wednesdays
In-person classes. Online attendance available for distant students and by special request.
TIME: 10.00-11:45am (In-Person)
TEACHER: Gen Kelsang Zopa
STUDY BOOK: The TTP Students are studying Tantric Grounds and Paths.
The Teacher Training Program (TTP) is designed for those who want to train as qualified New Kadampa Tradition Teachers. In addition to completing the study of fourteen texts of Sutra and Tantra, including the six texts studied on the Foundation Program, students are required to observe certain commitments with regard to behaviour and way of life, and to complete a number of meditation retreats each year. Teacher Training Program is not a drop-in program and enrollment is required. When TTP students sign up they have a strong intention and commit to complete the study of all 12 subjects without stopping. Students must have received Highest Yoga Tantra empowerments within the New Kadampa Tradition in order to study some of the books. Generally people will complete the Foundation Program first. COMMITMENTS OF JOINING STUDY PROGRAMS
When you join either the Foundation Program or Teacher Training Program you must make the following commitments:
- To attend every class (including the group discussion classes).
- To memorize the Condensed Meaning or Root Text of the books and to sit a written examination at the end of each book or section of a book.
- To attend at least one group prayer each week organized by the Centre.
- To prepare well for each class so discussions are meaningful.
- To help care for the community by volunteering
Study Program members join in helping KMC Victoria to flourish in practical ways – such as by occasionally putting up daily water offerings, cleaning the meditation room and other areas as needed; also assisting at classes and, when appropropriate, leading lunch time meditations or teaching.
When you join either the Foundation Program or Teacher Study Program members join in helping Bodhichitta Kadampa Buddhist Centre to flourish in practical ways – such as by occasionally putting up daily water offerings, cleaning the meditation room and other areas as needed; also assisting at classes and, when appropropriate, leading lunch time meditations or teaching.
Prioritising the Study Program in your personal schedule is essential for your studies and meditations to be successful. The Program term dates will be sent to you in advance every six months. Please try to schedule any personal meetings/holidays etc. in the light of your Study Program attendance commitment.
