In this course we learn how to take our meditation to a deeper level and learn about one of the most treasured and blessed practices of the Kadampa tradition, ‘Heart Jewel’. Gen Kelsang Zopa will explain how to receive the profound blessings and protection of the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri in the aspect of Je Tsongkhapa and the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugdan. In this way, we can increase our wisdom, compassion and spiritual power and make swift progress along the spiritual path.

This is an in-depth course. Everyone is welcome!

1.30-2.30pm  ~  Session 3

3.00-4.15pm ~ Wishfulfilling Jewel Prayers.  Join us for these special group prayers following the day course.  You are welcome to bring a small vegetarian food offering, like sweets or baked goods.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE COURSE?

TEACHING  The teacher will then give a practical teaching  based on a book by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

GUIDED MEDITATION  Each session includes meditation to help us take the teaching to heart and there is also the opportunity to ask questions.

WHAT ARE THE COVID PROTOCOLS FOR ATTENDANCE?
  • Stay home if sick or not feeling well

Q. Do I need to be a Buddhist to attend?

No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind

Q. Do I need to have any experience?

No. Everyone is welcome, including beginners. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.

Q. How should I dress?

No special clothing is required, come as you are.

Q. Is there any physical exercise involved?

No. The classes focus on meditation and teachings alone. You can choose to sit on a chair or meditation cushion.

Q. Do I need to book in advance to attend in person?

No, please just drop in a few minutes before the class starts and pay at the door with cash, credit card or cheque.  Members just tick their name on the list.

Q. Do I have to wait for the next series of classes to begin?

No, please feel free to drop in whenever you like.  Each class is taught in such a way that if you only attend one class, you will derive benefit from it.

Q. What is your policy regarding fragrance?

We strive to be a scent free environment. Please help us keep the air we share healthy and fragrance free. The chemicals used in scented products can make some people sick, especially those with fragrance sensitivities, asthma and allergies.

Q. What is your policy regarding late arrival?

Our doors open 15 minutes before class start.  Kindly arrive at least 5-10 minutes before class start to facilitate check in and get seated. Out of kindness for our volunteers, students and Teachers, we cannot accommodate latecomers.  Thank you for your understanding.
