Two Half-Day Courses

Have you been wanting to create a meditation practice for yourself, but need more guidance?  These half-day courses has been designed with you in mind.  Meditation creates positive states of mind and a daily experience lived with more mental peace – no matter what is happening in our lives.

In the first course you will be introduced to the basics of meditation and then, 6 weeks later,  you will have an opportunity to explore in more depth how to develop a regular daily practice.  Each course includes 2 one-hour sessions which will be available on demand for 4 days.

Two half-day courses:

  • Basics of Buddhist Meditation with Rae Supeene ~  available on demand Feb 10-13
  • Developing Your Buddhist Meditation Practice  with Mariem Martinson ~ available on demand Mar 24-27

Both sessions in each course will be available from Weds 8am through Saturday night.

TEACHERS

Rae Supeene

Rae is the Administrative Director for Bodhichitta Centre and has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for many, many years.  She is an experienced teacher and presents Dharma with great warmth and clarity.  She frequently teaches this introductory class.

Mariem Martinson

Mariem is a member of our Teacher Training Program, leads noon meditation on Wednesdays, and coordinates the Centre’s chanted meditation prayers.  She brings many years of study, meditation experience and practice to her classes.

Q. Do I need to be a Buddhist to attend?
No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind.
Q. Do I need to have any experience?
No. Everyone is welcome, including beginners. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.
Q. Do I need to book in advance?
You need to book online to attend.  Please register at least 2 hours prior to the start time, so that we have time to complete preparation processes.
Q. Do I have to wait for the next series of classes to begin?
No, please feel free to attend any of the classes you wish. Each class is taught in such a way that if you only attend one class, you will derive benefit from it.
