LETTING GO OF STRESS AND ANXIETY
The busyness of our modern world provides lots of opportunities to experience negative states of mind like stress, anxiety, or anger. Ancient Buddhist meditation practices offer a practical way to cultivate powerful antidotes to these disturbing mental habits. Join Gail Hill as she offers practical strategies and useful meditation techniques to improve your mental well-being.
Gail is a member of Bodhichitta Buddhist Centre and a student in the international Special Teacher Training Program. She presently teaches classes at Bowen Park Recreation Complex in Nanaimo on Tuesdays. Gail brings many years of practice and experience to her teaching.
Each class begins with guided breathing meditation, to help settle the mind and let go of distractions. If we wish, we can join in and recite the Liberating Prayer, which is a chanted prayer where we connect with the inspiration of enlightened beings.
The teacher will then give a practical teaching based on the book, How To Transform Your Life, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The teaching will focus on how we can integrate Buddha’s timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.
