CLASS TOPICS

SEPT 10 - OCT 15

BUDDHIST MEDITATION FOR HAPPINESS

With the hectic pace of modern life, it is easy to feel overwhelmed, distracted and stressed. Learn simple yet powerful techniques to improve inner peace and clarity.

OCT 23 - NOV 27

BUDDHIST MEDITATION – A MINDFULNESS TOOLKIT

Our mind can be focused or scattered, peaceful or agitated. Meditation training to cultivate mindfulness helps us connect with the natural peace that lies beneath our busy distracted thoughts.

CLASS FORMAT

Guided Meditation

Each class begins with guided breathing meditation, to help settle the mind and let go of distractions. If we wish, we can join in and recite the Liberating Prayer, which is a chanted prayer where we connect with the inspiration of enlightened beings.

Teaching

The teacher will then give a practical teaching  based on the book, How To Transform Your Life, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The teaching will focus on how we can integrate Buddha’s timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.

Concluding Meditation

The class will finish with a concluding meditation to help us take the teaching to heart and there is also the opportunity to ask questions.

TEACHER

  Gail Hill

Gail is a member of Bodhichitta Buddhist Centre and a student in the international Special Teacher Training Program. She presently teaches classes at Bowen Park Recreation Complex in Nanaimo on Tuesdays. Gail brings many years of practice and experience to her teaching.
