FREEING OUR  MIND AND DISCOVERING OUR POTENTIAL

By increasing our understanding of the mind and how it functions, we will understand where true happiness comes from – and how to become more skillful in creating happiness for ourselves and others.  This awareness will motivate us to practice the tools Buddha gave us in our daily lives, enabling us to create permanent peace

COURSE 2

MAR 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, APR 6, 20 (no class APR 13)

RELATIONSHIPS – AN OPPORTUNITY TO GROW OUR COMPASSION

Many of the difficulties we experience involve our relationships with others – in our family, our workplace, our neighbourhood and in our society at large.  We will learn and practice profound meditations that will enable us to cherish others more fully and deeply.

COURSE 3

APR 27, MAY 4, 11, 25, JUN 1, 8, 15 (no class MAY 18)

BECOMING OUR OWN PROTECTOR

We have so many fears and challenges in our lives – loneliness, sickness, financial hardships, death and losses of many kinds.  Where do we turn for support and strength?  By understanding the benefits of relying on Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, we can develop a foundation that will allow us to transform life’s experiences to create more wisdom and peace.

CLASS FORMAT

Guided Meditation

Each class begins with guided breathing meditation, to help settle the mind and let go of distractions.

Teaching

The teacher will then give a practical teaching  based on the book, How To Transform Your Life, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The teaching will focus on how we can integrate Buddha’s timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.

Concluding Meditation

The class will finish with a concluding meditation to help us take the teaching to heart and there is also the opportunity to ask questions.
